The .EG Registry, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), has announced the launch schedule for domain name registration in the Arabic IDN.ccTLD for Egypt (.مصر ). This new ccTLD will be launched in 3 phases:
- Sunrise 1 (now closed) – Registration open to Governmental institutions.
- Sunrise 2 (August 22, 2010 – TBA) – Registration open to those who hold an Egyptian Commercial Registration Certificate (CRC) or an Egyptian Trademark (TM) in Arabic. This launch is NOT First Come, First Served, but interested clients are strongly encouraged to submit their registration requests for this phase as soon as possible due to the unknown closing date of this phase.
- Sunrise 3 – Landrush (TBA) – Registration open to everyone. The Registry is still discussing this phase within their policy committee. No dates or rules have been released by the Registry to date.
