CentralNIC, a popular provider of alternative domain extensions, recently announced that they are expanding their offerings by introducing a new domain extension: .COM.DE.
Sunrise (June 20, 2011 – July 22, 2011): This phase is open to owners of a trademark or a commercial firm name registered with a German Commercial Register. The name applied for must be identical to the name on the trademark or commercial firm name. This phase is not first-come, first-served. If more than one qualified application is received, the allocation of the domain name will be determined by auction.
Landrush (July 25, 2011 – August 26, 2011): This phase is open to anyone wishing to register a .com.de domain name. This phase is not first-come, first-served. If more than one qualified application is received, the allocation of the domain name will be determined by auction.
.DE Registrant Promotion Phase (August 30, 2011 – September 23, 2011): This phase is open to all registrants of .de domain names who wish to secure the .com.de version of their name. The domain name applied for must exactly match the .de domain name already held.
General Availability (September 26, 2011): .com.de domains will be available to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis.
