It was recently announced that .com.ru will now be offered again by the registry, RU-Center. This extension was previously offered but is now being re-launched.
This extension will be launched in two phases:
Pre-reservations phase (October 5, 2011 – October 25, 2011): This phase is open to all interested individuals and institutions. If more than one application is received for this phase, the qualifying applicants will go to auction. Auction dates have not been released but will be released via email and the registry website with no less than 24 hours notice. The bidding period is not less than three calendar days.
General Availability (October 25, 2011): Registrations are available on a first-come, first served basis.
