The Somalia Registry, The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, recently announced that they are extending the Sunrise Registration period from November 30, 2010 to December 31, 2010. With this change, the remaining phases will also be pushed back. The dates are now as follows:
• Sunrise Registration: November 1, 2010 – December 31, 2010
• Land Rush Registration: January 10, 2011 – February 28, 2011
• General Availability: April 1, 2011
To reflect these changes, the auction dates have been rescheduled. If more than one credible application is received during the Sunrise Registration, those applicants will participate in an auction. The Sunrise auction will now begin on January 17, 2011. If more than one credible application is received during the Land Rush phase, applicants will also participate in an auction. The Land Rush auction will open March 14, 2011.
